PLATFORM IMPLEMENTATION

Salesforce consulting and CRM implementation

Salesforce workflow discovery, configuration, data migration, integrations and reporting, with a controlled rollout and customer team handover.

Define the Salesforce operating problem

CompanyConnect provides independent Salesforce implementation consulting for South African and international teams through remote delivery. The work begins with how the customer team works: how enquiries become opportunities, who owns follow-up, what information service teams need and which reports guide decisions. The first output is a scoped process and data brief. Existing Salesforce configuration should be understood before adding more fields or automation.

Configuration around roles and sales workflows

Configuration scope can cover agreed objects and fields, pipeline stages, ownership rules, validation, permissions and operating views. Each item needs a business purpose and acceptance criterion. We identify what the selected Salesforce edition and existing configuration support before making an implementation commitment. Native capabilities are considered first; custom integrations or development need a separate justification. Team representatives review the proposed workflow with representative records so that the system reflects actual responsibilities rather than an impressive but unused feature list.

Data migration with reconciliation

A migration starts with an inventory of source systems, record types, relationships and known quality issues. The mapping records source and destination fields, required transformations, duplicate decisions and exclusions. A bounded sample is checked before wider transfer. Acceptance includes record counts, key values, ownership and related records, with rejected or held items recorded explicitly. Cutover planning identifies the authoritative source and when edits should pause. A rollback or correction approach is agreed for the project rather than promising that every historical field can be migrated unchanged.

Integrations, reporting and security boundaries

Connected systems may include approved forms, accounting tools and operational applications. We confirm API access, connector behaviour, permissions and licensing dependencies in the actual accounts. Integration design includes readback, duplicate prevention, error escalation and the point where a person must approve a consequential action. Reporting begins with agreed definitions and source fields so the team understands what a dashboard measures. Access, data sensitivity and retention requirements inform the design; implementation is not a security certification or a guarantee of regulatory compliance.

Illustrative sales-to-delivery handover

Illustrative workflow, not a client outcome: a qualified opportunity moves through agreed sales stages, with required information checked before a delivery handover. An approved stage change requests an operational task in a connected system. The integration records the destination task ID and confirms ownership before marking the handover complete. Repeated events refer to the same stable opportunity identifier. Missing scope information is held for review, while an uncertain destination response is reconciled before retrying. This example defines useful test cases, not a promise about an unconfigured Salesforce account.

Engagement stages and customer team handover

Discovery establishes priorities, constraints and access owners. Design defines configuration, mapping, reports and acceptance checks. A controlled pilot tests representative users, records and exceptions before an agreed rollout. Training uses the customer team’s actual responsibilities and explains how to correct errors or request changes. Handover includes configuration notes, migration reconciliation, integration recovery steps and named owners. Support arrangements and later phases are agreed explicitly. For a consultation, bring a sanitised process description, current systems and the decisions the team cannot currently see. Check current Salesforce plans directly when planning licence costs.
